"Be going to" vs "would"

We use "would" when we talk about a simple statement of future fact, a voluntary action or express a promise in the past.

Past:  I will bring some wine to dinner
Present:  I would bring some wine to dinner.

Past:  I will send you the information
Present:  I would send you the information.

Past:   I will call you when I arrive
Present:   I would call you when I arrive.

We use "was/were going to" when we had certain knowledge of the futur event (a firm plan or other assuring information)

Past: I am going to fly to Ney York on bussines
Present: I was going to fly to New York on bussines but I got sick.

Past:   I'm going to be an actor when I grow up
Present:   I was going to be an actor when I grown up.

Future in the past

We use future in the past forms to talk about predictions and intentions made in the past.

Present continous

Past: I believe Howard is coming on Sunday
Present:   I believed Howard was coming on Sunday.

Be going to
Past: I believe Howard was going to come on Sunday.

Present:   I believed Howard was going to come on Sunday.

Will
Past: I believe Howard will come on Sunday.

Present:   I believe Howard would come on Sunday.

Fighting for the Vote

Another topic that the author had wrote about is the women fight ofr their right to have a political opinion and to vote; claimed that "all men and women are created equal" and that "the history of mankind is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations on the part of man toward woman."
The fight for the women right to vote began to have results when in 1869 Wyoming granted women the vote, even when Eastern states resisted to it.

I think that the woman vote was another achivement for woman history that give us more power to decide about all the matters around us which affect our lives and also help us to be recovering our birthrights that men have been forbidding us.

Women in Reform Movements

Mainly the author wrote about how women have suported and promoted many movementsagainst injustices, like improve education, to initiate prison reform, to ban alcoholic drinks, and to free slaves.
Maybe the last one was beacause many women saw them selves in the slave position, both were expected to be passive, cooperative, and obedient to their master-husbands.
Also many men supported the right of women to talk in public about those kind of matters.

In my opinion women have always been supporting many good causes in favor of the less fortunate ones, and also have been promoting improvements and developing of methods ans systems that would make better humankind.

Feminist Philosophies

The author wrote how women have protested againts the limitation of woman capacity in all fields of life just beacuase of their sex. Politically, many feminists believed that a cooperative society based on socialist economic principles would respect the rights of women. And the result of these endless protest was that more young women than ever were going to school, and living by themselves in city apartments.

In my opinion a feminism not so extreme is good, because is an idiology that is centrated in beliefs of equality between women and men in society and professionals roles.
But when it comes about extreme feminism I don't like it, because I think that there is a reason or propouse why we are differents

Women in Politics

Mainly the author wrote about the evolution of woman position in US politic, but also mentionates the principal hierarchy achivements  of women in global histor'; like the first president women in the world who was Sirimavo Bandaranaike of Sri Lanka.

I think that women are gainig more credibility in the political field and having more important roles in it; because everyone is realizing that women can do the same or better work than men in politics.
