The author wrote about at first intance women weren't allowed to keep their individual properties if they got married even the custody of their childrens; but this evolved and equity law allowed married women to own property separate from their husbands and to sue her husband but men still had control of children.
Women began working outside their homes with really bad conditions, then the goverment started to limit her working hours and improve working conditions of women but these laws also restricted women working rights giving the chance to women discrimination to start. This discrimination passed through work to other fields of life like welfares, credits, crime, prostitution, etc.
I think that the status of women in law has always been contradictory unlike men, when it comes about bank facilities, legal or work rights, women are complete restricted of this; but when we talk about punishments of any kind, women are the ones who recive the worst with out any contemplation.
i think tat even nowadays, if a men kill a women is a horrible homicide, but if a women kill a men is a favor 2 humandkind! hahaha ^^
